The first Arrow Helicopters XC Fiver of the season is in the books! Thanks to the 21 racers and 5 volunteers who participated. The weather was a little unsettled and though the clouds moved in, racers were only subject to some light drizzle during the race. It was great to see a mix of old and new faces last night. We hope to see more old and new faces at future eventsJ
Brendan MacIntosh comfortably led from start to finish for the overall win – he doesn’t appear to be slowing down quite yet… Isaac Smith and Bart Jarmula had a back and forth battle swapping places a number of times before Isaac took second in the last few hundred meters. Nikki Norrie paced the women’s field with Vikki Haines and Stephanie Claivaz rounding out the podium. Full results are posted on Webscorer.
The best quote of the evening goes to Faye (who recently moved to BC from Ontario) stating that these trails are awesome! Yes, we are pretty lucky to have such fun trails in our backyard!
The next XC Fiver will be in three weeks on June 7th. The exact race course should be posted about a week before the race but expect it to include Berm Donor and Dusty Beaver. Mark it down on your calendar!
