Racers at the 3rd 2017 DH Fiver on Iron Lotus presented by Flowt Bikes were treated to a beautiful day up Boulder and beautiful conditions on the trail. The dirt was moist and tacky and the skies were clear!

There were only two women racing, but Erin Collins and Oshi Hampson kept it exciting with Erin beating out Oshi by less than a second! They figure they may have even crashed in the same spot. Oshi moves into a tie with Jessa Burke for the lead in the overall.

The men’s podium was a mix of fresh and familiar faces. Connor Boycott, Simon Gagnon, and Nathan Jecks put in repeat speedy performances for this year, while Ryan Bugye put in a quick time, proving that his 4th place in last year’s Frigid Fingers was no fluke. Nash Masson (who is either back for a visit, or has finally returned home depending on how you look at it) put in a blistering time on his short travel 29er to beat Nathan Jecks by just over 2 seconds. Jecks increases his lead in the overall, and Simon Gagnon moves up to second place.

Big thanks to our volunteers for keeping the series running, and thanks to Flowt, Stoke Roasted Coffee, and Monashee Spirits for the great draw prizes!

The final race of the season will be on Frisbee DH on Oct. 22, followed by a bonfire and weenie roast, and the awarding of the overall medals.
