Arrow Helicopters XC Race #1 - RESULTS

Thanks to all 21 racers in attendance last night at the first Arrow Helicopters XC race of the season!The weather cooperated and although the light was fading fast all the riders made it across the finish before the sun was set. The 12km race opened with a solid sprint off the line down the forest service road which helped spread things out but more than a few riders over extended themselves in the first half-lap. By the time they crossed the line for the first time the riders had settled into their respective rhythms ready for another two laps.  Rafael Krezalak took the lead early and stayed out front right to the finish with a winning time of 40:04.2. In second place was Seth Van Varseveld at 2:34.2 behind the leader and third place was secured by Bart Jarmula who kept just a few seconds ahead of Brendan MacIntosh despite Brendan's quickening lap times.In the women's category Emily Unterberger handily kept clear of her competitors completing the race in 51:03.1. The battle for second and third positions was fought between three strong riders: Meghan Tabor, Marcy Bennet, and Amanda MacIntosh.
