Arrow Helicopters XC Race #3 this Wednesday
The third race of the Arrow Helicopters XC race series is scheduled for July 2nd! Please note that this is one week earlier than originally planned – sorry for the inconvenience if this change affects you negatively. We have a couple exciting announcements…Number one we will be using a brand new course that uses two unique laps. This means you will be riding different trails on each lap. The course includes some favorite descents such as Dusty Beaver and Berm Donor, classic technical singletrack on Tantrum, and a good climb on Flowdown. The map of the course is now available on the website. During this race we will be doing split timing on the descent portions of each lap so this is your chance to show off your technical prowess. The fact that we are doing split timing leads to the second big announcement – this event will also have an Enduro category. It seems that Enduro racing (timed descents with untimed transfer stages) is new big thing so we are jumping on the bandwagon. Racers in the Enduro category can ride directly to the start of the timed section via the shortest route, rest at the top, and then hammer the descent. The two segments are about 5km in length (combined) have a combination of flowy and fast trails, slow technical trails and a few short technical climbs thrown in.Remember that the more races you do the more chances to win one of our year end prizes (which include a day of cat skiing at RMR, a two night summer stay at RMR, gift certificates to Flowt courtesy of Bob Dickson Carpentry, gift certificates to the Woolsey and an OR gear prize package.See you on July 2nd!Full details can be found here.
