RCA Wednesday XC Racing presented by Arrow Helicopters

Race #2: May 20th (register 6:20-6:45pm, start 7:00pm).Where: Start and finish is at the Griffith Creek FSR junction with Beaver Lake Road. This is located about 600m up the hill from the Griffith Creek trail map kiosk. To reach the start drive south from town on Hwy 23. Turn right onto Griffith Creek FSR (4.5 km from Hwy 23 and Big Eddy Road junction). Parking at the Start/Finish is limited although there is plenty of parking just before the trail kiosk. There are no facilities at the start/finish area.Cost: $2 for RCA members, $10 for non-members holding a Cycling BC race license. You must have a Cycling BC license to race. Please bring proof of Cycling BC membership (either membership card or email receipt) to the race.Course: The race will consist of two laps. Riders will descend Toad School, Berm Donor and Dusty Beaver. Buff Enuff and the powerline access road will be used for the climbs. Each lap is approximately 7 km long and climbs 270m. Expect the fastest riders to complete each lap in 25 min. You are welcome to race only one lap but you will be ranked behind anyone who completes two laps. We will be timing a downhill section from the highpoint of Dusty Beaver to the finish line and there will be bonus points for the top three times in this section.
