Virtual AGM on November 18

Dear Members,

As we announced in September, our annual general meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, at 7 p.m. Because of COVID, we’ll be hosting it on Zoom, so you’ll be able to attend from the comfort of your own home. We’ll let you know what we’ve been up to the last year, what we’re working on going forward, and the results of this year’s member survey. We’ll send out another update with the complete agenda next week. Zoom link here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88066078057In the meantime, we want to remind you of two special resolutions you’ll be voting on at the AGM.

  1. The first resolution will:

  • Increase the number of directors on the board to 11 and increase quorum. The RCA has been operating with 11 directors since our 2018 AGM, but our bylaws were not updated to reflect that so we need to rectify that.

  • Increase quorum for meetings to six people from five. This ensures more than half of all directors are present at a meeting for any votes to be made.

  1. The second special resolution will amend our bylaws to specify all directors are volunteers. This is something that is expected when we apply for BC Gaming Grants and we believe it will improve our chances of obtaining these grants.

You can see the special resolutions here. Our current bylaws are found here.

We will then move to elect our new directors. We have seven director positions to be elected. We will be seeking to fill the following roles:

  • Vice-president/secretary

  • Membership

  • Trail construction

  • Trail maintenance

  • Events

  • Two directors at large (one will be for a one-year term)

Most current directors are running for re-election, but we are actively seeking someone to fill the roll of events director. If you intend to run for one of these positions or would like more information on what it means to be a director, please email president@bikerevelstoke.org.

We hope to see you there, virtually.
