Alpine riding season is upon us
In the past week, people have been taking their bikes into the alpine to go riding and check out the conditions. The answer seems to be that all trails are bikeable, however they remain soft and there are significant muddy sections and snow patches still around. Please make every effort to be nice to the trails. Stay on the trail! Don't ride around wet or snowy areas! Keep singletrack single! The Frisby Ridge Trail is clear of snow to about the 3 km mark, then there's about a 200 metre snowy-section. Afterwards, there are intermittent snow patches and wet areas to the first high point. Beyond that, there's more snow than trail, so it is not recommended.Keystone/Standard Basin has been ridden byseveral groups all the way to the cabin. Reports indicate there is still a large snow patch in the basin just before the switch backs. Beyond that, we've heard mixed reports that the trail is still soft, with snowy patches; or that it is prime and good to go. If you've been up there, please e-mail your observations to revybiker@gmail.com.Sale Mountain (the Martha Creek DH trail) is good from the top, with a few snowy patches remaining. There is a bridge out below the first road crossing. It can be crossed on foot but be very careful.Mount Cartier has been ridden to the summit and back. According to the few hardy souls that made the trek, the trail has been cleared of most trees, but a few remain between the 10 and 12 km marks. We haven't heard anything about Joss Mountain yet. If you've been up there, let us know how it is by e-mailing revybiker@gmail.com.Visit our trail conditions page for a complete list of what's open and closed
